It's just another day when I'm a Jew during the Holocaust. I'm in a concentration camp, and it is SO bad. But suddenly, I catch an idea: kill a Nazi guard and put his uniform on to sneak out. I am waiting behind a corner for a guard to walk by, and then blam--I snap his neck, killing him instantly. I undress him and put his body in a box that no one will look in. I put on the uniform--a perfect fit. I stroll along, waving to the other guards and nobody notices anything. I tell the guys at the main entrance that I am going home for the day because I have a stomach ache, and it works perfectly.
Now I am outside of the camp in my Nazi uniform and walking around to find something to eat. Everyone treats me with respect because they think I'm a Nazi, and it's so great. I walk around and get some delicious bread at the bakery, and get an apartment where I go to sleep.
I love going to sleep. I love thinking about when I was a kid, about how my mother would take care of me when I was sick. Despite being ill, I felt comforted: my mommy was taking care of me. I didn't have to take care of myself. I didn't have to do any work. I didn't have to go to school. I had someone to care for me, someone who would love me no matter what I did.
When you're an adult, you take care of yourself. You pay the bills, you pay the rent, and you pay for your bread at the bakery. Independence is a punishment. I wish everyone would just be nice.
