My name is Trixie Lee Short Lacey, wife of Biff Murray Lacey (December 18, 1956 of Salt Lake City, Utah) son of Donna Rae Bailey Lacey and Larry Dean Lacey (October 11, 1933 born Salt Lake City, Utah) son of Rosa Belle Fuelling and Claude Shelton Lacey (March 2, 1886 - born somewhere Tennessee - possibly Obion, County - died 1959, Salt Lake City (Lived Park City, Utah) to Mary Edmunson and Lou Lacey (born 1856 (?)),

That is where our story ends: Genealogy without proof - is mythology!

We have found in the 1880 US Census - J L Lacey (born Illinois) living with the J H Edmundson(sp) family listed as son in law - machinist - Mary Lacey is his wife - also a J L Macguire was married to a Mary Edmundson on December 28, 1879 in Obion County, Tennessee.

According to Claude's oldest living daughter - Mother apparently died in childbirth and he (Claude) was raised by maternal grandparents - (father Lou - worked for the railroad) Claude ran away from home about 14 or 15 years of age. (Go figure - teenagers never change - any help, etc - would be greatly appreciated!)

I was sent the following message in an email: Maybe it will help someone!

Hello,
I just found your site on the internet - and I am NOT a Lacey, but I am a
collector
of needlework samplers and family histories and I thought you might be
interested
to know about one that I own.
It has the names Margery Lacey born 4-21-1811 and Mary Jane Lacey born
8-31-1835 and Margaret Lacey born 12-21, 1837 and the city is Oneida New York.
